Revel Systems, the maker of mobile point-of-sale systems that operate on Apple iPads or iPhones for restaurant and retail establishments, has announced that Geek Squad, a national provider of tech support owned by Best Buy, will perform all Revel installs across the United States.
"Installing legacy POS systems that rely on back-office servers takes several days but installing Revel Systems' revolutionary POS system takes just a few hours," said Lisa Falzone, co-founder and CEO of Revel Systems. "Combining this efficiency with the expertise and ubiquity of Geek Squad Agents will make it easier than ever for customers to adopt our system, which relies on servers hosted in the cloud."
Richfield, Minn.-based Geek Squad, a Best Buy Services Group capability, is the first national 24-hour task force dedicated to solving customers' technology challenges. The Geek Squad has 20,000 active agents available online, by phone, or at Geek Squad precincts in all U.S. Best Buy stores.
Since it came out of beta last August, Revel has been processing millions of dollars with major brands such as Camille's Sidewalk Cafe, Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen, and Twistee Treat. The company's flagship product is a quick, intuitive and secure mobile restaurant POS system that enables staff to take orders and process payments using an iPad and gives management a central place to view and retrieve transaction and billing information.
