To kickoff National Hamburger Month, White Castle has launched a new loyalty program for its customers called Craver Nation. The program encourages Cravers to form a social community with free Sliders rewards.
"White Castle is known to have a legion of loyal Cravers around the globe," said Jamie Richardson, vice president of White Castle and an ambassador of Craver Nation. "Since we often hear from them, we developed Craver Nation so that they can share their love for all things White Castle in a social media setting."
The Craver Nation website – www.cravernation.com – includes a gallery of photos from fans, as well as online games. Cravers can create their own profile and post comments on the site. The program also includes a Craver Nation mobile phone application.
Cravers can earn points for free Sliders by completing certain tasks on the website and everyone gets two free Sliders for signing up.
In conjunction with the launch of Craver Nation, White Castle is giving away a tablet each day and one Craver Nation fan will win a lifetime supply of White Castle Sliders.
Fleet Week celebration
In addition to the launch of Craver Nation, White Castle will honor the U.S. military at Fleet Week in New York City. The chain will serve Sliders to members of the U.S. Navy, Marines and Coast Guard from 5-7 p.m. on May 25.
Also in conjunction with Fleet Week, White Castle is hosting its Fastest Griddle Contest between one sailor, Marine and a member of the Coast Guard. The contestants will be tested on their speed, accuracy, efficiency and quality of burger making.
May also marks the call for entries for the 12th annual Cravers Hall of Fame Contest from now through July 31. Cravers can submit original stories about their relationship with White Castle, why White Castle is meaningful to them and the efforts they have gone to satisfy cravings for the Original Slider hamburgers online.
Stories are evaluated for originality, duration and extent of the "Crave." Winning Cravers are invited to Columbus, Ohio, to attend the Hall of Fame induction ceremony in the fall.
This is the 21st year that White Castle has celebrated National Hamburger Month with several events throughout May.
