Wisconsin-based Culver's will establish its first restaurant on the East Coast with a slated summer opening in Greenville, S.C. It will be operated by Jim and Heather Clark of Greenville.
A second restaurant is planned for Fort Mills, S.C., in 2013.
"This is a dream come true for me personally," said Jim Clark. "I'm a native Midwesterner and have always been a big fan of Culver's and its reputation for food quality and hospitality. I've always dreamed of operating a Culver's franchise and bringing it to Greenville."
Culver's currently has 453 restaurants in 19 states. South Carolina will be the chain's 20th. The chain plans to open about 30 new restaurants in 2012.
