Thousands of sailors, Marines and members of the Coast Guard are celebrating Fleet Week in New York City this week, and will be treated to White Castle sliders on the deck of the U.S.S. Wasp.
More than 2,500 military personnel will be served approximately 5,000 Sliders from 5-7 p.m. May 25.
"Our legion of loyal Cravers extends to those serving in the U.S. Military," said Jamie Richardson, vice president of White Castle. "It's our turn to give back. White Castle is honored to pay tribute by participating in Fleet Week and showing our support for the troops."
This "thank you" celebration is one part of the White Castle festivities for Fleet Week and National Hamburger Month.
On May 24, White Castle is dedicating Castle No. 47, located in Columbus, Ohio, for its historic significance in company history. Its at this unit where long-time customer Victor Gradowski spent most of his time earning a spot in the Cravers Hall of Fame. A plaque and dedication ceremony will be held in Gradowski's honor, and will mark the first landmark for Craver Nation.
After the dedication ceremony, hundreds of Craver Nation "citizens" – or loyalty members – will take an oath of Cravership.
"What could be more natural than our loyal followers pledging their complete commitment to distinctive taste," Richardson said.
Each Craver Nation member will receive an official Craverhead mask and White Castle will also serve complimentary Sliders. Since its launch earlier this month, Craver Nation has already gained thousands of fans from around the world.
