The ubiquitous quick-service restaurant segment will be the focus of a brand new series, "Fast Food Mania" on the Discovery Channel. The series is set to premiere June 3 at 10 p.m.

According to a press release, Destination America's Fast Food Mania will "dive into the pop culture world of fast food, digging into its cuisine, featuring its fanatics and exploring all the one-of-a-kind wonders it has to offer." The food tour will be led by Jon Hein ("The Howard Stern Show" and "The Fast Food Show" on Sirius/XM) as he dines on some of the world's most popular dishes.

The series will look at the food offerings and will offer tips for navigating drive-thrus and ordering secret menu items. It also also will provide a peak into the test kitchens of some of America's most popular chains. Fast Food Mania will reveal behind-the-scenes stories and little known facts, including answers to trivia questions such as "Who designed the signature red and white KFC bucket?" (It was the founder of a rival QSR, Wendy's Dave Thomas, who once operated one of the largest KFC franchises).

This season, Fast Food Mania will at stop Sonic, Dunkin Donuts, Dominos, Taco Bell and Nathan's Famous in Coney Island, N.Y. The tour also will uncover some up-and-coming chains, as well as hidden gems such as Jet BBQ, a historic firehouse turned drive-thru restaurant in Wichita, Kan.
