The Charlotte Business Journal has awarded Eric Newman, executive vice president and general counsel for Bojangles' Restaurants Inc., with its inaugural corporate counsel award.
The Charlotte Business Journal's solicited nominations from readers and lawyers were evaluated by a judging panel provided by the Association of Corporate Counsel's Charlotte chapter and the CBJ editorial staff. Winners were recognized in several categories based on the size of their departments. Newman competed in the category of legal departments with a staff of two to 10.
"Eric's 27 years of experience at Bojangles' is matched only by the breadth of his responsibilities, overseeing the departments of Franchise Development, Real Estate, Construction and Law," said Randy Kibler, president and CEO. "Regardless of economic times, Eric's focus and dedication has been paramount to the success of our company."
