Arby's has introduced turkey roasters, sandwiches that feature oven-roasted turkey that is thinly sliced every day.
To mark the menu rollout, Arby's is hosting a nationwide tasting event for customers to sample one free Turkey Roaster sandwich of their choice when they visit a participating Arby's on Sept. 6, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., while supplies last.
Served hot, and made fresh to order, the turkey roasters are available in three varieties:
- Grand Turkey Club: Sliced roast turkey with melted Swiss cheese, pepper bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo on a toasted harvest wheat bun;
- Turkey 'n Cheddar Classic: Thinly-sliced, oven-roasted turkey topped with cheddar cheese and zesty red ranch sauce on a toasted onion roll; and
- Turkey Classic: Thinly-sliced, oven-roasted turkey on a toasted sesame seed bun.
"Now everything our customers love about Arby's freshly sliced meats can be found in the irresistible new Turkey Roasters," said Russ Klein, chief marketing officer, Arby's Restaurant Group Inc. "We can't believe it took us 48 years to add Turkey Roasters to the menu, so we're making up for it by offering everyone a chance to try one free of charge, no coupon required."
Arby's is incorporating that "disbelief" into its marketing campaign to introduce the new sandwiches. To answer why it took the brand 48 years to come up with the turkey roasters, Arby's has hired a "professional scapegoat" to take the heat and help make amends. Fans can meet Arby's scapegoat on Sept. 6 at Facebook.com/Arbys and share their opinions about the new turkey roasters via Facebook, Twitter, email or phone.
Also, Arby's website offers the ability for guests to add a reminder for the giveaway event to their personal electronic calendar. The invitation can also be shared with Facebook friends.
