Gold Star Chili, the "Official Chili of the Cincinnati Bengals," is kicking off the football season with a special promotion running at all 95 units in the system. A full-size Bengals-logoed football with the signatures of 24 Bengals players will be available for $8 with the purchase of any Gold Star Chili combo meal.
The footballs can be purchased for $10 without a combo purchase.
"Very positive response from customer surveys and focus groups, and the high level of fan excitement and anticipation surrounding this year's Bengals team give every indication that we will move a lot of these footballs," said Charlie Howard, Gold Star vice president of marketing. "Only $8 for a football of this quality represents a great value for our customers. We expect that we will see an increase in our combo meal sales and have many multiple football purchases. These balls will be showing up at tailgates and on collector's shelves as well as under the Christmas tree later in the season."
Gold Star is also offering free Bengals souvenir cups featuring the Bengals logo/imagery and the 2012 season schedule. Cups are free with the purchase of a large fountain beverage.
Additionally, customers engaged with Gold Star Chili via social media and e-Newsletters will have the chance to enter to win a variety of fan experiences including a pair of tickets to every Bengals home game and a VIP experience for the Dec. 30 Baltimore game, with premium seating, a pre-game sideline pass, tour of the press box, a Bengals jersey and more.
