Anti-American sentiment is heightening in some Middle Eastern countries, as evidenced by the targeted attacks against popular U.S. restaurant brands last week. Following the release of the controversial film "The Innocence of Muslims," American QSRs became the target of protestors in Tripoli and Lebanon, who ransacked and torched a Hardee's, KFC and Krispy Kreme, according to The Telegraph.
The restaurants were attacked by those protesting the film, which ridicules the Prophet Mohammed and portrays Muslims negatively.
The protestors numbered in the hundreds, and many were shouting anti-American slogans while vandalizing the restaurants.
The protests followed an attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya that killed a U.S. ambassador and three other Americans.
