Sonic has introduced two new premium chicken sandwiches — a limited-time Asiago Caesar Chicken Sandwich and an "improved" Classic Chicken Sandwich.
Both are available either grilled or crispy. The introduction is in response to the growing presence of chicken on QSR menus.
"Chicken sandwiches are sometimes overlooked on menus and we wanted our new Premium Chicken Sandwiches to wake up the standard fare with a fresh flavor experience," said Chef Clas Petersson, vice president of research and development for Sonic. "The team has been perfecting the chicken sandwich for nearly a year and we are excited to introduce the new Asiago Caesar and Classic Chicken sandwiches that promise to make the chicken sandwich a Sonic menu destination."
The Asiago Caesar Chicken Sandwich includes an all-white meat chicken breast topped with sliced Asiago cheese and hand-sliced tomatoes served on Sonic's warm ciabatta bun with 10 grams of whole grain. The signature Caesar dressing on the sandwich is based on an aioli that Chef Petersson has been developing for the last 18 years.
The Classic Chicken Sandwich includes an all-white meat chicken breast topped with lettuce, tomatoes and light mayo and is served on a warm whole-grain ciabatta bun.
