Japan Airlines (JAL) issued a press release today announcing its partnership with KFC to the seventh installment of the Air Series in-flight meal onboard select international JAL flights.
The airline will serve KFC from Dec. 1 through Feb. 28, 2013.
JAL and KFC have created packaging specifically for this partnership. The design features JAL and KFC founder Colonel Sanders on a special box and tray mat, unavailable anywhere else but onboard these JAL flights. The meals are called "Air Kentucky Fried Chicken."
During the partnership, passengers traveling in Premium Economy and Economy Class on JAL from Narita to New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego, London, Paris and Frankfurt, will be served KFC's Original Recipe two-piece chicken meal during the second meal service. It includes one drumstick, one boneless chicken breast filet, a piece of flatbread made especially for Air Kentucky, a cup of coleslaw and lettuce leaves. Chicken sandwiches are also available as a trade-out for the drumstick and breast filet.
According to the release, KFC is widely popular in the Japanese market, particularly during the holidays.
