Carl's Jr.'s restaurant in Kelowna, British Columbia — the brand's first in Canada — is featuring its first online deal with partner Smart Betty.

Smart Betty, based in Mississauga, Ontario, is an online daily deal site that gives back to the community. As part of the deal, Carl's Jr. will offer a 50-percent-off discount, and Smart Betty will donate 10 percent of profits from the promotion to local charities and nonprofit associations of consumers' choice.

"Smart Betty would like to welcome Carl's Jr. to Canada and we wish them a long and successful venture north of the border," said Daniel Lattanzio, Smart Betty's president.
