Santa will be busy visiting some quick-service restaurant brands this holiday season in order to fulfill the wish lists of consumers. GiftCardRescue.com's fifth annual survey of approximately 20,000 gift card requests shows a demand for fast food, with McDonald's listed at No. 3 behind Wal-Mart and Target.
"What has been remarkable to watch is the steady rise of McDonald's gift cards in the rankings over the last few years to claim the number three spot in 2012," says Kwame Kuadey, CEO and founder of GiftCardRescue.com. "Other than that, the top five most wanted gift cards have remained consistent."
At No. 4 and No. 5 were Amazon.com and Home Depot, respectively.
Other restaurant brands to make the list were Subway (No. 8), Starbucks (No.12), Darden Restaurants (parent company of Red Lobster, Olive Garden and Longhorn Steakhouse) and Wendy's (No. 20).
