Subway is now promoting its "Random Acts of Fitness for Kids" program, set to kick off in January. The national program is in its sixth year and is designed to motivate students in grades K-6 to stay active and healthy.
Teachers who register now will get access to 20 weeks of new activities designed to keep students engaged.
Those who sign up are also eligible to win a $1,000 weekly prize for their classroom and will be entered into the grand prize drawing for the chance to win new bikes for themselves and for their students. The bikes are provided by Schwinn.
Other perks this year include a classroom kit with a scratch-off game board poster for classrooms and access to 20 weeks of online activities, fit tips and games.
Topics cover the basic food groups and making good food choices; learning about nutrients, carbohydrates and vitamins; learning how muscles work; a lesson on portion sizes and more.
