Krispy Kreme is celebrating the first anniversary of its Hot Light App, which launched Dec. 19, 2011. Since it came on the market, the mobile app has generated more than 230,000 downloads and conducted 42 million-plus searches for Krispy Kreme locations and promotions.
The free app is available at HotLightApp.com on iPhone, iPad and Android devices.
"No longer do our fans have to be driving by a shop to see if there are hot Original Glazed doughnuts coming down the line," said Dwayne Chambers, chief marketing officer for Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporate. "Every day, thousands of Krispy Kreme fans throughout the country are getting alerts sent directly to their smartphones when the Hot Light is on at their preferred Krispy Kreme location. What could be sweeter this season than having a Krispy Kreme Hot Light with you wherever you go?"
Along with Hot Light alerts, app users are among the first to know about upcoming promotions and featured limited time offerings.
The top 10 markets using the Hot Light app include: Charlotte, N.C.; Raleigh-Durham, N.C.; Los Angeles; Atlanta; Norfolk-Portsmouth-Newport News, Va.; Greenville-Spartanburg-Asheville, Carolinas; Greensboro-High Point-Winston Salem, N.C.; Washington, D.C.; Myrtle Beach-Florence, S.C.; and Mobile, Ala./Pensacola, Fla.
