Burger King has returned to the French market for the first time since 1997. According to the Associated Press, the brand opened a restaurant over the weekend at an airport in Marseille through an agreement with Autogrill, an operator of restaurants at travel stations.

Fifteen years ago, Burger King closed the last of its 39 restaurants in France because they weren't profitable. A second unit is planned in the first half of 2013, also at a highway service station.
