Pennsylvania-based Berner International Corp., a U.S. manufacturer and innovator of air curtains, presented foodservice manufacturer's representative Preferred Marketing Group (PMG) with its Gold Achievement Award for outstanding sales in 2012. The award was presented to the Chatsworth, Calif.-based company at the North American Food Equipment Manufacturers (NAFEM) Show recently in Orlando, Fla.
PMG recorded the highest gross sales among Berner's nationwide network of 20 foodservice manufacturers representatives, according to Joe Banas, Berner's national sales manager, Foodservice Division.
"Instead of every salesperson trying to cover all aspects of the industry, I believe PMG's success is due to smartly putting salespeople into product categories and geographical areas where they are strongest individually," Banas said.
PMG is a 29-year old company with 15 employees servicing the territories of California and Southern Nevada with field offices in Santa Rosa, Calif., and Las Vegas. PMG also operates a full-service, 4,000-square-foot test, demonstration and education kitchen at its Chatsworth headquarters.
For 15 years, PMG has sold Berner International air curtains. Sales have included both foodservice and restaurant applications, such as the Drive-Thru Unit to minimize energy losses and employee vehicle emission inhalation; both back door and front door air curtains for controlling energy and flying insects in foodservice and restaurants, and walk-in cooler entrances to save energy and reduce refrigeration equipment wear-and-tear.
Berner also awarded two other manufacturer's representative firms:
- Swanson-Girard & Associates, Charlotte, N.C., the Silver Achievement Award for outstanding sales in 2012; and
- Veitch Group, Orlando, Fla.,the Bronze Achievement Award for outstanding sales in 2012.
