Arby's will reward residents from the first U.S. city that renames itself "Reubenville" in March with free Reuben sandwiches. Even if the challenge cannot be met, Arby's will offer a buy one, get one free deal on its Classic Reuben sandwich from March 15-17.
Arby's "Reubenville Challenge" invites U.S. cities to issue an official city council proclamation declaring the renaming of their city to "Reubenville" for the month of March, and the name change must be documented on the city limits sign. The first city to complete Arby's "Reubenville Challenge" will receive up to 5,000 coupons for complimentary Arby's Reuben sandwiches for their citizens. Any city interested in participating in the challenge must send official documentation to Arby's at ArbysReubenville@hunterpr.com by March 31.
"Reubens are the classic New York City deli sandwich, but there's no need to go to NYC when you can get a fresh Reuben at your local Arby's," said Bob Kraut, senior vice president of Brand Marketing & Advertising, Arby's Restaurant Group Inc. "That's why we're excited to challenge cities across America to trump New York City as the best city for Reubens and become the next Reuben capital."
Fans can download the BOGO coupon online at Arbys.com beginning March 11.
Arby's Classic Reuben is a New York-style sandwich featuring corned beef, topped with melted Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and Thousand Island dressing served on toasted marble rye bread. It is available nationwide for a suggested price of $4.99, or as a combo for $6.99.
