Burger King's BK Delivers' program continues is rapid expansion, as the service has been added to Salt Lake City this week.
Since January 2012, BK Delivers has been added to 12 metro markets throughout the U.S., including Boston, New York, Miami, Houston, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Washington, D.C., Phoenix, Denver and Sacramento, Calif.
"As its popularity has grown, we have seen an increasing demand for the program in other markets," said Petru Pusta, director, Retail Innovation, Burger King Worldwide Inc. "This expansion was an easy decision as Salt Lake City has some of our most loyal guests and the Burger King brand is excited to offer them the opportunity to enjoy the food they love, delivered to them in the comfort of their home, dorm or office."
BK Delivers allows guests in the delivery zone to customize and order from BKDelivers.com or by calling toll free 1-855-Order-BK (855-673-3725). The delivery service was made possible through Burger King's proprietary thermal packaging technology, which keeps hot food hot and cold food cold in transit.
BK Delivers has one live delivery restaurant in Salt Lake City serving West Valley City, Taylorsville and Kearns. This initial location will serve as a training ground for the market before expansion to other locations. Burger King plans to open one more BK Delivers site in downtown Salt Lake City within the next two to three weeks and will serve Salt Lake City proper, including the University of Utah.
The company continues to gauge interest for expansion in other markets through its BKDelivers.com website and social media channels.
