Jersey Mike's has been recognized for leading promotions of the Certified Angus Beef brand on menu boards, social media and advertising, according to a company press release.

The Restaurant Chain Marketer of the Year award was presented to Mike Manzo, Jersey Mike's COO, at the beef brand's annual conference, held Sept. 18-20 at the JW Marriott Desert Springs in Palm Desert, Calif. Restaurateurs joined cattle ranchers and distributors at the event to discuss premium beef from farm to table and celebrate accomplishments during its 35th year.

"Jersey Mike's understands quality and effectively brings the best to customers every day," said John Stika, the beef company's president. "We appreciate the opportunity to grow with this bold and innovative chain."

Jersey Mike's introduced the Certified Angus Beef brand in its roast beef and provolone subs in 2000, when the chain had 170 stores. Today, it has more than 750 locations open and under development nationwide. Beef is roasted at restaurants nationwide, where subs are prepared with freshly sliced meats, cheeses and toppings.

"Quality is very important to us and our customers," said Manzo. "That's why we serve only the Certified Angus Beef brand for our famous roast beef sub."
