Ace Metrix released its annual list of brands that had the top TV ads of the year, based on Ace Scores within their respective categories. The top 20 brands earned the highest average scores from their entire portfolio of national TV ads throughout 2013.
For the QSR category, Baskin-Robbins' "highly visual" new campaign earned the No. 1 spot, outperforming perennial winner Pizza Hut and newcomer Panera Bread. According to a news release, Baskin-Robbins' "media-friendly" 15-second spots averaged an Ace Score of 594.

In the casual dining segment, Longhorn Steakhouse came out on top. Ace Metric wrote: "Sell the sizzle has been a mantra in advertising for quite some time now, and no one does it better than Longhorn Steakhouse. Their ads were a series of steak, steak and more steak with an occasional reference to lunch and earned the brand an average Ace Score of 618."
Google was named as the overall Brand of the Year award, the Software and Websites category Brand of the Year and the Ad of the Year for "Here's to 2013," with an Ace Score of 663. Check out the top overall ad from 2013:
Nearly 750 brands competed for 20 category titles from more than 5,000 creative executions. In the last year, Ace Metrix scored more than 6,400 ads from more than 1,200 brands. Ace Metrix scores every nationally airing TV ad across 24 industries and 93 categories.
