An ad campaign by McDonald's France featuring a gay teen has garnered more than 2.15 million views as news about the campaign went viral. The video debuted at No. 4 on Advertising Age's Viral Video Chart for the week. (Subscription required.)
 
The ad is part of McDonald's France Come as You Are campaign, which seeks to showcase that its customers' coming from all walks of life. Industry observers, gay advocates and consumers were among those praising the ad and its message and McDonald's for being the first quick-service brand to target the gay teen demographic.
