TCBY, The Country's Best Yogurt brand, has announced the winner of its "This Could Be Yours, The Great TCBY Store Giveaway." Following a highly competitive nationwide contest to win a TCBY store, the Greer family of Fayetteville, Ark., takes the prize and brings TCBY back to Northwest Arkansas.
Sarah and Jared Greer took to the streets of Fayetteville and the campus of their alma mater, the University of Arkansas, to create an impassioned video that was equaled by their ability to rally voters to their cause. The Greers created a Facebook page — Northwest Arkansas TCBY — and Twitter account, nwatcby, to reach potential voters and future customers with updated information on activities and announcements surrounding the store giveaway.
Through the final step of the contest, similar to TCBY's standard franchisee screening process, the Greers' extensive business experience, strong community roots and passion for the TCBY brand helped solidify them as the winner.
"From day one, we have been impressed with the interest in our brand, and especially with the caliber of submissions we received," said Michael Ward, president of TCBY, in a news release. "The decision between the five finalists was excruciatingly hard, but we feel we have chosen a winner, the Greers, who we know love this brand like it was their own. We are eager to get them up and running and serving The Country's Best Yogurt to the supportive people of Fayetteville and Northwest Arkansas."
The Greers are successful entrepreneurs who own two businesses. They are both very active volunteers in the community with organizations, such as The Komen Foundation, Junior League of Northwest Arkansas and the Children's Safety Center. As graduates of the University of Arkansas, their plan is to open a store near the school's campus in Fayetteville, Ark., and eventually more locations throughout Northwest Arkansas.
