Starbucks Corp. is suing its former divisional senior vice president Paul Twohig for taking a job with Dunkin' Donuts, according to a story by Bloomberg News. Starbucks filed a complaint in federal court in Seattle on Monday claiming Twohig, who left the company in March, violated a non-compete by accepting a job with a direct competitor less than 18 months after his departure.

According to Bloomberg:
Twohig joined Starbucks in 1996, left once in 2002 and returned in 2004, the company said. While away, he served as chief operating officer for Panera Bread Co. The non-competition agreement was a condition of his reemployment, Starbucks said.

The company is seeking to recoup payments and other benefits, including salary, stock and severance pay from Twohig. Starbucks also asked the court to bar Twohig from disclosing confidential company information.
