El Pollo Loco has introduced its new Buffaloco Wings for a limited time, the company has announced.
Buffaloco Wings are prepared to order and then smothered in one of two sauces: Spicy Buffaloco sauce or Tangy BBQ sauce. The Spicy Buffaloco sauce offers a unique twist on traditional Buffalo sauce through the infusion of Mexican Oregano. The chain's Tangy BBQ sauce kicks traditional BBQ sauce up a notch with chipotle peppers, habanaro chili and citrus juices.
"We're celebrating America's love affair with wings by smothering our new Buffaloco Wings in sensational sauces you won't find anywhere else," said Karen Eadon, chief marketing officer for El Pollo Loco Inc.
El Pollo Loco's new Buffaloco Wings will be available through the end of the year in quantities of five, 10, 20 and 30. Consumers can also add 10 Buffaloco Wings to any combo or family meal purchase for just $5.00. El Pollo Loco will communicate its new Buffaloco Wings through a multimedia campaign that includes television commercials in select West Coast markets beginning Sept. 21. In addition to television advertising, a wide mix of point-of-purchase vehicles will introduce El Pollo Loco's Buffaloco Wings, including window clings, translites, register displays and drive-thru communication.
Other chains are also playing into the football party favorite. Rally's Drive-In stores are promoting the chain's wings, and Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is offering wings for a limited time in conjunction with an online photo contest.
