As more consumers are eating at home, Burger King is trying to capture some of those sales with the release of a retail line of crispy microwaveable Burger King-branded french fries.
Part of a deal brokered by Broad Street Licensing Group between Burger King Corp. and Con Agra Foods Lamb Weston, the line will debut early this month at select retailers with King Krinkz seasoned crinkle-cut fries. Soon to follow will be King Kolossalz extra-large fries and King Wedgez seasoned potato wedges.
"Burger King Corp.'s tremendous brand strength and reputation for great-tasting french fries give this new line of King retail fries a head start in the marketplace," said Sharon Miller, vice president of retail sales for ConAgra Foods Lamb Weston. "Now consumers can enjoy King-fries at home in an easy-to-prepare, microwaveable format that's perfect for today's busy families."
Burger King also has licensed its BK Apple Fries for sale in grocery stores beginning this fall as well as the existing line of snack chips.
