Submarina California Subs has promoted president and chief operating officer Mimi Zeller to president and chief executive officer, the company has announced. The move is effective immediately.
 
Before joining Submarina as COO in 2006, Zeller began her career in franchising at Domino's Pizza Inc. where she oversaw operational aspects including unit level sales growth and profitability, marketing, new product development, royalty collection and standards compliance for 725 franchises. In addition, Zeller served as senior vice president of operations for Mail Boxes Etc., overseeing all purchasing and operational aspects for 3,400 domestic franchises.
 
Former CEO Jeff Warfield will remain with Submarina as an area developer in Riverside County, Calif.
