Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corp. has entered into a sponsorship agreement with the NFL Carolina Panthers that includes the company's signature products being available during all home games for the next three seasons.
Beginning this season, Panthers fans can enjoy Krispy Kreme Original Glazed doughnuts as well as a variety of Krispy Kreme products during games at the Bank of America Stadium. Krispy Kreme products will be available in multiple locations throughout the stadium, including in a special Club Level Krispy Kreme doughnut shop, which also will offer the company's new Kool Kreme soft serve in traditional cones and doughnut sundaes.
"As a company that has its roots firmly planted in the Carolinas, we are delighted to partner with the very successful Carolina Panthers organization," said Jim Morgan, president and chief executive officer of Krispy Kreme. "Because we are actively looking for suitable locations to build additional Krispy Kreme shops in the Charlotte metro area, the opportunity to offer our unique products at Panthers games ties nicely into our plans for growth in the region."
Krispy Kreme recently opened two of its new smaller, neighborhood doughnut shops in North Carolina, one in Winston-Salem and the other east of Raleigh in Knightdale. The smaller retail concept shops are designed to open in smaller locations that typically rely on a nearby factory store to supply product.
The company also plans to open additional locations in downtown Raleigh and Lexington, S.C., a suburb of Columbia, by the end of the year.
