The Oklahoman: Sonic Corp. and American's Drive-In Brand Properties LLC have filed a federal lawsuit against Bright Orange Software for cyber-squatting, the illegal practice of registering a domain name in bad faith with the intent of profiting from the good will of a trademark owned by someone else. The lawsuit seeks $100,000 in damages for the software company's establishment of the Web site mysonic.com that sent visitors to Burger King's home page.
 
Sonic claims ownership of a variety of trademarks with the corporate name, MY SONIC, which the company has used since 2004 for restaurant services and prepaid magnetically coded customer cards.
