The Charleston Gazette: St. Albans, W.Va., Subway franchisee Larue Causey is angered by the West Virginia Senate's decision to revise its menu labeling bill to accommodate a former senator in exempting his Tudor's Biscuit World and Gino's pizza chains.

Causey and other restaurateurs plan to go to court to block enforcement of the menu-labeling legislation if the exemption remains in the bill.

After Senate approval, the bill moved to the House of Delegates, where a House version of the bill died in Government Organization Committee.

UPDATE: On Thursday, the West Virginia House Health and Human Resources Committee removed the controversial Senate amendment. The committee amendment restored the original standard, applying the requirement to all chain restaurants with 15 or more locations nationwide. The bill goes to the House Government Organization Committee, where the House's version of menu labeling died earlier this session.
