MILFORD, Conn. — Subway Restaurants and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) are kicking off a partnership in support of the We Can! movement by gathering hundreds of kids, parents and teachers, along with boxing champion Laila Ali and Olympic soccer player Tab Ramos, at the D.C. Armory March 25, for a National PEP Rally (Play More, Eat Right and Push Away the Screen).
With Subway spokesman Jared Fogle, Ali, Ramos and NIH acting director Dr. Raynard S. Kington hosting the event, more than 300 elementary and middle school students will participate in popular playground games like hopscotch and four square as well as active sports like basketball and soccer. With parents, teachers and We Can! partners cheering them on, students will rotate through the games like a relay, followed by a Subway Fresh Fit for Kids Meal lunch and an autograph-signing session with Subway spokesman Jared Fogle, Ali and Ramos.
The National PEP Rally will be held March 25 from 12 p.m. – 3 p.m. Eastern time at the D.C. Armory.
