CARPINTERIA, Calif. — Carl's Jr. has introduced a new premium burger, the Kentucky Bourbon Burger.
The Kentucky Bourbon Burger includes:
- A burger topped with sweet Kentucky bourbon sauce
- Bacon
- Garlic-pepper onion straws
- Pepperjack cheese
- Fresh tomato
- Lettuce
- Toasted, sesame-seed bun
The Kentucky Bourbon Burger is a limited time offer and available in three varieties: as a single ($2.99), double ($3.99), and Six Dollar Burger ($4.89). Prices may vary regionally.
A new Kentucky Bourbon Burger commercial by Mendelsohn|Zien advertising agency will begin airing next week. The commercial, titled "Surgeon," shows a doctor who craves the taste of bourbon and "loves to knock back a big one between surgeries." In the humorous reveal, he is shown eating a Carl's Jr. Kentucky Bourbon Burger in the doctor's lounge.

Franchise talks
Bloomberg reports that Carl's Jr. parent company CKE Restaurants Inc. is talking with its franchisees about incentives to keep building Carl's Jr. and Hardee's restaurants amid the deepening U.S. recession. One suggestion is to phase-in royalty payments, but a specific plan hasn't been determined.
