Ninety five percent. That’s right, 95% of all consumers are on Facebook, according to our latest research findings across both North America and the UK. We asked more than 12,000 consumers from all age and income groups to tell us about their social media usage last month.
Think about that statistic for a minute. That’s higher than magazine readership, radio listening, and even some TV viewing. Sixty-five percent of those Facebook users are enthusiasts—people who find it really helpful to stay in touch with friends and check it multiple times in a day or week. Why is that important to restaurateurs? Because there’s another really important statistic that we learned about those consumers. 85%. That’s how many said they ‘liked’ Facebook pages of restaurants. They reported that they used those sites to find out about promotions and events that propelled them to come visit.
