America’s Next Great Restaurant signs music partnership with Custom Channels

Custom Channels has been chosen to be the music provider for Soul Daddy, winner of the NBC TV restaurant reality show America’s Next Great Restaurant.

Soul Daddy opened three locations May 2, the day after the final TV episode aired. The locations are in New York City’s Southside Seaport, Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn., a suburb of Minneapolis/Saint Paul, and Hollywood, Calif., in the Hollywood & Highland Center.

“We didn’t know for certain the winner of the America’s Next Great Restaurant until the very last minute” said Custom Channels co-president David Rahn. “We were really excited to hear it was Soul Daddy because the concept’s creator, contestant Jamawn Woods, had mentioned several times on the TV show that he wanted music to be a big part of his restaurant’s theme – that’s perfect for us.”

Custom Channels provides custom, streaming “radio stations” for a variety of restaurants and other businesses. Custom Channel’s customers include Cava Mezze Grill, Whole Foods Market, Pita Jungle, MOD Pizza, Floyd’s 99 Barbershops, Life is good apparel, the Bonnaroo Music Festival and Chipotle Mexican Grill.

“We’re not the corporate ‘elevator music’ type of service,” Rahn said. “We love working with forward thinking companies – so we’re really proud to be of service to America’s Next Great Restaurant, Soul Daddy.”
