Baskin-Robbins is seeking franchisees in the San Francisco and Sacramento, Calif., areas as it expands its footprint throughout the next several years.

The ice cream chain plans to open more than 20 new units in the next several years throughout those two metro markets. Baskin-Robbins operates 152 locations in and around San Francisco and Sacramento, and has 469 shops across California.

Company executives will host a "Becoming a Baskin-Robbins Franchisee" seminar March 21 at 7 p.m. at Buca di Beppo, 855 Howard St. in San Francisco to share information about joining the brand.

Registration can be done online at baskinrobbins.com/franchiseopportunities.

"Baskin-Robbins has a proud tradition of providing quality ice cream products for more than six decades, and is renowned for offering irresistible flavors and frozen treats," said Grant Benson, CFE, vice president of franchising and market planning of parent company Dunkin' Brands Inc. "As the Baskin-Robbins brand continues to develop in California, we're now looking for entrepreneurs in San Francisco and Sacramento with strong financial backgrounds and a passion for their local communities."
