Bojangles' raises record amount for Muscular Dystrophy Association

April 19, 2013

Bojangles' has raised a record-breaking total — more than $446,000 — for the Muscular Dystrophy Association during its 12th annual Shamrocks Against Dystrophy in-store fundraiser. The amount is expected to send more than 550 children to MDA Summer Camp this year.

Bojangles' is marking its 15th year in partnership with MDA and has raised nearly $3 million to help win the fight against neuromuscular disease.

From March 1-17, Bojangles' customers were given the opportunity to support MDA by purchasing a green shamrock for $1 or a gold shamrock for $5. The fundraising program was offered at all company-owned Bojangles' and participating franchise locations. Customers who purchased a shamrock were rewarded with a coupon for a free Bo-Berry Biscuit.

"Bojangles' continues to sponsor various MDA fundraisers all year long in an effort to support local research to find a cure for neuromuscular diseases," Bojangles' President and CEO Randy Kibler said. "We're so appreciative of our generous customers who are just as passionate as we are about supporting such a great cause and a wonderful organization."
