Culver's lands on the East Coast

Wisconsin-based Culver's made its debut on the East Coast with the opening of its 470th restaurant in Greenville, S.C., Nov. 5.

The opening marked the chain's 20th state of operation. A second restaurant is planned for Fort Mills, S.C., in 2013.

The new location is owned by Jim and Heather Clark, who have been Greenville residents for 11 years.

"I'm a native Midwesterner and am excited to bring Culver's great tasting food and hospitality to Greenville," Jim Clark said in a news release.

Culver's, which was founded in Sauk City, Wisc., in 1984, is on track to open four more restaurants before the end of the year, bringing the total number of 2012 openings to 29.
