Dairy Queen has announced its official entry into New York with the scheduled opening of its Manhattan restaurant this spring. Located at 54 West 14th St. between 5th and 6th Avenues, this new restaurant will be the first ever two-story DQ Grill & Chill restaurant in the country, according to a news release.
"For nearly 75 years, the Dairy Queen system has been serving fans in more than 6,400 locations throughout 27 countries. Now, we are bringing the world famous Blizzard Treat, the cone with the signature curl on top, and delicious Orange Julius beverages to our fans in New York City," said John Gainor, president and CEO of International Dairy Queen Corp.
LSQ Foods has signed a multiunit agreement and will operate the Manhattan location. The company plans to expand the brand aggressively in Manhattan after this initial opening.
The two-story, 2,500-square-foot Manhattan DQ Grill & Chill restaurant will seat more than 100 and will offer a full food and treat menu including $5 Buck Lunch.
In 2013, the Dairy Queen system opened two DQ Grill & Chill locations just outside Manhattan — one in Massapequa and one in the Staten Island Ferry Terminal.
