Dunkin' Donuts continues westward expansion

March 1, 2012

Dunkin' Donuts has announced the signing of a multi-unit store development agreement with Doug and Katy Redman for seven restaurants in Denver. The first is expected to open in 2013, and the remainder by 2018.

The father and daughter team will manage and oversee the company's daily operations for each restaurant. They have more than 23 years of experience in the franchise industry. Doug was formally a development agent and multi-unit owner of more than 140 Subway restaurants in Nebraska and South Dakota, 10 video rental/electronic stores and two Taco Del Mars.

"We are excited to expand Dunkin' Donuts' presence in Denver and play an important role in the daily lives of people who live, work and visit here," he said.

Franchise opportunities are still available in Colorado in Fort Collins and the surrounding areas.

Earlier this year, the company announced the signing of a multi-unit store development agreement with a newly formed subsidiary of Sizzling Platter LLC (Sizzling Donuts LLC) for 11 new restaurants in Denver that are planned to open over the next several years.

Also, speculation abounds over where the first California Dunkin' Donuts will be located. The Boston Business Journal reported that a job posting has been listed at Camp Pendleton, in the San Diego area.

A Facebook page for MCCS Camp Pendleton's food services division posted the job opening earlier this week.
