Facebook fans' demand prompts Taco Bell's Beefy Crunch Burrito return

After a barrage of requests from Facebook fans, Taco Bell has re-introduced its popular Beefy Crunch Burrito limited-time offer.

The item was originally introduced in December 2010 and was on the menu until May. After its limited-time offering was over, however, customers collaborated to start a Facebook page called "3 million fans to get back the Beefy Crunch Burrito" (3MF).

"We are totally humbled by the positive response and impassioned requests of Taco Bell fans for the return of the Beefy Crunch Burrito," said Amy Kavanaugh, vice president of Public Affairs and Engagement, Taco Bell Corp. "We're listening! So thank you for standing up to be heard. We are very pleased to, in return, take action on behalf of a group of our biggest fans and let them tell the Beefy Crunch Burrito story."

The 99-cent Value Menu item is filled with Flamin' Hot Fritos chips, beef, nacho cheese sauce, seasoned rice and reduced-fat sour cream. It will be available, again for a limited time, beginning Dec. 22.

The Beefy Crunch Burrito will also be offered as a combo with two Crunchy Tacos and a large drink for $3.99 – and available in Taco Bell's $5 Box with a Crunchy Taco, Crunchwrap Supreme and medium drink.

For the re-launch, Taco Bell invited Richard Axton, the leader of 3MF, into its headquarters last week and allowed him to announce the Beefy Crunch Burrito's return to fans before any communication was formally released from the company.
