Jersey Mike's Subs announced today it raised an unprecedented $2.1 million for its 4th annual Month of Giving campaign, which ran through March.
The money will go toward more than 100 different charities nationwide.
"Our extraordinary customers, franchise owners, team members and charity partners have outdone themselves this year," CEO Peter Cancro said in a news release. "We exceeded our goal and are grateful to everyone who helped make a difference in people's lives."
During March, customers were invited to make a donation to a local designated charity partner. The campaign culminated in Jersey Mike's "Day of Giving" on March 26, a daylong nationwide event when 100 percent of the day's sales were donated to each local charity partner. The charity recipients included hospitals, youth organizations, food banks and more.
Last year's "Month of Giving" raised $1.7 million for 86 local charities. Since 2010, Jersey Mike's locations throughout the country have raised nearly $10 million for local charities and have distributed more than 750,000 free subs.
