Krispy Kreme rewarding customers who talk like a pirate

International Talk Like a Pirate Day is Sept. 19 and once again Krispy Kreme will offer a free doughnut to those who participate.

Additionally, guests who dress in full pirate attire will earn a free dozen Original Glazed doughnuts. The offer is good only on Sept. 19.

To earn a reward, those visiting a participating shop who talk like a pirate will get one free Original Glazed doughnut.

For the free dozen, qualifying costumes must include three or more of the following items: Eye patch, pirate hat, bandana, peg leg, parrot on shoulder, pirate shirt/loose white shirt, knickers, leather belt, silver and gold necklaces and earrings, pirate hook, pointy black boots or ragged brown sandals.

No weapons are allowed.

'N Sync member signs on as judge for Krispy Kreme festival

Additionally, 'N Sync's Chris Kirkpatrick will join the judging panel for this year's inaugural Krispy Kreme Film Festival which culminates on Sept. 12 with a gala event at the Royal Theatre in Toronto. Kirkpatrick, who recently performed with 'N Sync at the MTV Video Music Awards, will be joined by event Emcee Spencer "Spenny" Rice as celebrity judges for the short film contest.

Krispy Kreme Canada invites fans to submit a doughnut-themed short film. The grand prize winner gets free Krispy Kreme doughnuts for one year, a $500 cash prize and a doughnut-inspired Oscar. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary.

The top 10 finalists will be announced on Sept. 9 at krispykremefilmfestival.ca. Those selections will be unveiled on Sept. 12 at The Royal Cinema in Toronto where a winner will be chosen by a panel of celebrity judges.
