Krispy Kreme turns to Pinterest for product announcement

Krispy Kreme took to social media Tuesday to hint about its upcoming fall lineup. The company posted a teaser on its Facebook page that said: "Psssst... Want a sneak peek at what's headed to our shops starting September 2 (US and Canada only)?"

It then directed fans to the link, http://KrispyKreme.com/Surprise, which led them to a Pinterest page showcasing the items.

The fall launch? Pumpkin Spice and Pumpkin Cheesecake doughnuts. They're expected to hit stores Sept. 2 and will be available through Nov. 27 at participating locations.

The Pinterest page includes photos of the new products, as well as descriptions. The Pumpkin Cheesecake doughnut combines cream cheese and pumpkin flavors for the filling, and is topped with cream cheese icing and a gingersnap cookie crumble.

The Pumpkin Spice doughnut is a pumpkin spice flavored cake doughnut coated in Krispy Kreme's signature glaze.

Krispy Kreme will also feature a Pumpkin Spice latte beginning in September.
