McDonald's customers throughout Sacramento, Stockton and Modesto, Calif., and Lake Tahoe and Truckee and Northern Nevada areas can now download the new, free McDonald's McD App on their iOS or Android devices.
According to a news release, McD App utilizes location-based services to provide consumers with deals and offers directly from their mobile device and has the ability to tailor future offers and deals based on a user's preferences and purchasing behaviors. New deals will auto-refresh based on redemption to deliver a consistent variety of value offers.
In addition to local offers, the McD App's geo-targeting capability will notify customers of upcoming events and offers happening at a specific McDonald's restaurant near their current location.
It is available for download in the App Store for Apple devices and in the Google Play marketplace for Android devices. Customers can also download the app by scanning the QR code on merchandising posted in McDonald's restaurants.
"We are so excited for the opportunity to launch this new digital platform so our consumers can connect directly with McDonald's," Franchisee Steve Ramirez said in the release. "The McD App puts our quality food and beverages at a great value right at our customers' fingertips and we are thrilled that we can meet their needs in this new and exciting way."
The Greater Sacramento Area is the second McDonald's market in California to launch the McD App. The app is currently only available in a few regions across the country.
Customers who download the McD App will immediately receive an offer for a free medium-sized Extra Value Meal.
