Menchie's franchise agreement paves way for Canadian expansion

Yogurtworld Franchising Corp. announced that it has sold its rights to develop and operate Menchie's Frozen Yogurt units in Canada. The primary assets that were purchased/assigned/transferred were the master franchise agreement for Canada, all the signed franchise agreements and all multiunit development agreements with all Canadian franchisees.

"Over the past few years, with restaurants from B.C. to Newfoundland, we have developed Menchie's Frozen Yogurt into Canada's only national chain of self-serve frozen yogurt restaurants. We are thrilled that we have been able to achieve this dominant leadership position and we are confident that the new owners will continue to maintain and further build upon our leadership position," said Michael Shneer, president of Yogurtworld Franchising Corp.

 The new master franchisor for Menchie's Frozen Yogurt in Canada is Alex Shnaider, chairman of the Midland Group, which has stakes in ocean shipping lines and numerous real estate holdings, including Toronto's Trump International Hotel & Tower and the King Edward Hotel.

"By pursuing an aggressive expansion strategy, we will build upon its success and bring the Menchie's experience to more communities across the country," Shnaider said.

National Frozen Yogurt Day

Menchie's is also now offering guests downloadable coupons to receive a complimentary 6-ounce yogurt in celebration of National Frozen Yogurt Day, Feb. 6. The coupons are available on the brand’s Facebook page and will be honored at participating Menchie’s locations throughout the U.S.

There is a limit of one printed coupon per guest and the offer is only valid on Feb. 6. There are more than 240 Menchie's locations nationwide.
