Philadelphia Dunkin' Donuts 'roasting hunger' this holiday season

Dunkin' Donuts units in Greater Philadelphia are partnering with four regional food banks to help "Roast Hunger" this holiday season.

Area Dunkin' Donuts are inviting guests to get involved in the initiative to raise money for Philabundance, Food Bank of Delaware, Food Bank of South Jersey and Second Harvest Food Bank of Lehigh Valley and Northeast Pennsylvania. The effort kicked off Thanksgiving day.

Through the end of the year, Dunkin' Donuts locations in Greater Philadelphia will be selling a holiday-designed to-go cup including the words: "Let's Roast Hunger Together." The cup retails for $3.99 with $1 from the sale of each cup going to the four partner food banks. As an added bonus, guests can bring their clean holiday cup to any regional Dunkin' Donuts and receive a 99-cent hot coffee refill through Dec. 31.

In conjunction with the 6ABC Dunkin' Donuts Holiday Food Drive, Dunkin' Donuts in Greater Philadelphia is also donating one pound of coffee to Philabundance, the region's largest hunger relief organization, for every new "like" on the Dunkin' Philly Facebook page, facebook.com/DunkinPhilly, through Dec. 31, or up to two tons or 4,000 lbs. of coffee.

"Dunkin' Donuts has a strong commitment to the Greater Philadelphia region and to the communities we are proud to keep running every day," said Jacqueline Keown, manager of Field Marketing, Mid-Atlantic Region, Dunkin' Donuts. "We are proud to be working with these four organizations and invite everyone to help support the families in need throughout our region this holiday season."
