Quiznos develops new 'toasty' pasta platform

Quiznos is extending its menu beyond its signature toasted subs with a new line of Toasty Pastas.

According to a news release, Quiznos is translating its chef-created recipes into new offerings such as Lobster Mac & Cheese and Pesto Chicken. Each of the six new pasta dishes is made with handcrafted Cavatappi pasta, as well as sauces and other ingredients, before being toasted.

"The new pasta platform enables us to leverage our toasted equity and attract a broader audience using many of our high-quality ingredients," Quiznos CMO Susan Lintonsmith said in the release. "The new Toasty Pasta line provides a craveable alternative to our premium toasted subs. It's great for kids and families — at dinner and of course for weekends."

Quiznos pasta lineup features individual portions and will be priced starting at $4.99. It includes:

  • Mac & Cheese – The new pasta menu is highlighted by three flavors of Mac & Cheese, including Classic Mac & Cheese, Bacon Mac & Cheese and Lobster & Seafood Mac & Cheese, featuring Cavatappi pasta with Romano Parmesan, Provolone and Fontina cheeses, all topped with Quiznos hand-made breadcrumbs.
  • Spicy Sausage Marinara – The Spicy Sausage Marinara features Fontanini Italian Meats spicy all-pork Italian sausage and all-natural mozzarella, topped off with lightened basil marinara sauce, all served over Cavatappi Pasta.
  • Meatballs Marinara – Featuring Fontanini's old-fashioned beef and pork-blended meatballs, which are filled with grated Romano and Ricotta cheese and a blend of Italian seasonings. Layered with a double portion of all-natural mozzarella, paired with a new and improved marinara sauce and all served over Cavatappi pasta.
  • Chicken Pesto – The Chicken Pesto Pasta features sliced all-white chicken breast, paired with diced balsamic tomatoes, an Italian three-cheese blend topped with Quiznos original Basil Pesto sauce, all served over Cavatappi pasta.

"When creating the new Toasty Pasta line, the culinary team wanted to create a compelling reason to get people out of the kitchen," Quiznos Executive Chef Nick Graff said in the release. "We're focused on developing unique products that speak to our customers' demand for menu diversity, value and authenticity."

The Toasty Pasta line is available starting now at participating locations nationwide.
