TCBY's soft-serve Greek Fro-Yo launches today

TCBY's soft-serve Greek frozen yogurt is now available in stores nationwide.

Honey Vanilla is the first flavor to launch, and includes twice the amount of protein found in the brand's Super Fro-Yo options. The flavor has 110 calories, 0 grams of fat and 20 percent of the daily requirements for both calcium and vitamin D. Offered toppings suggested to complement the flavor include honey, granola and fruit.

"Consumers look to Greek yogurt as a satisfying, filling and healthy option. In fact, Greek yogurt is 76 percent more likely to be eaten as a meal replacement," said Dr. Wayne Geilman, who developed the product for TCBY. "Greek Fro-Yo moves beyond just a snack or treat, serving up a more robust meal option and including toppings such as fruit, honey and granola."

Greek yogurt is growing at a compound annual rate of 130 percent and is the segment driving the vast majority of frozen yogurt category increases. In support of the growth, TCBY plans to introduce additional new flavors to the marketplace this summer.

"What we came up with is the healthiest product on the market – Greek Fro-Yo. What you will experience is a richer texture and pleasingly tangier tasting frozen yogurt that is loaded with healthy attributes."

TCBY is currently running a Greek Challenge on Facebook from now to May 31, encouraging fans to incorporate the company's Greek frozen yogurt into their diets.
