Tubby's Sub Shops get a boost from new delivery service

Tubby's Sub Shops has reported a 20 percent jump in business over the previous year, due in large part to delivery services that were added in most markets.

Marci Karp, director of marketing, said the company wasn't expecting the record-breaking winter weather when it introduced "Tubby's To You!" delivery services late last year. But although other businesses took a hit, Tubby's reported an upswing in business, with systemwide sales up nearly 20 percent during Q1.

"If we'd had a crystal ball or consulted a Farmer's Almanac, we couldn't have picked a better year to introduce and promote delivery services," said Karp. "When it's so cold outside, people don't want to leave their home or place of work."

Both residential and business deliveries are made by Tubby's in-store drivers.

Karp expects the sales increase for in-store business and deliveries to continue through spring and March Madness.

Tubby's includes 65 locations throughout Michigan.
