Two trends in one: Subway introduces jalapano cheddar bread

Dec. 20, 2013

Subway is hitting on two of this year's top QSR trends — spicy and unique bread offerings — with its release of the new jalapeno cheddar bread. The bread will be available for a limited time beginning Jan. 1.

"We love to treat our customers to new versatile flavors that complement the submarine sandwiches on our menu, hot or cold," said Mark Christiano, baking specialist for the Subway brand. "The mouth-watering jalapeno cheddar flavor profile serves as the perfect pairing to any of our sandwiches."

According to a news release, in a national consumer taste test, the new jalapeno cheddar bread was a top performer.

Additionally, the "$5 Any" regular Footlong deal will return in January. The $5 Any promotion is available for a limited-time-only through Jan. 31 at Subway restaurants nationwide.
